DISCLAIMER: writing and art are my two skills and you are seeing 100% of what i am good at
here’s a list of basic human things i can’t do:
- prepare and eat food without collapsing or crying or retching
- stand up for more than, say, 40 minutes
- remember to have a shower
- do basic addition
- remember people’s names, phone numbers, email addresses etc
- have an actual job
- learn to drive a car
- ride a bike
- go anywhere or do anything by myself
- literally anything that isn’t writing and art
my point being: you aren’t seeing the absolutely astonishing amount of things i cannot do, am not able to do (yet), or i actively fail at. you are only seeing the little tiny part of my life where i actually have my shit together. please don’t think i was magically born with the ability to write and make art, i just tried really freaking hard and practised a lot (like a full-time job for 5, nearly 6 years).

(i just can’t bear to see people think i started good and just got better, or that i’m good at everything. i started bad, and then got better. IF I CAN DO IT, YOU CAN DO IT TOO.)
and on that note, the above list is also a list of things I intend to be good at someday, WITH PRACTISE. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ
and also my sister reminded me “it is not a zero sum game”, as in, just because person x has a skill doesn’t mean person y or person z has any less of the same skill, or that their progress doesn’t matter. imo persons x, y and z can all help each other become better together <3
