But really though. Are dean and castiel even friends anymore or? I actually the writer being robert berens it wouldn't feel like they aren't but it just did? Like there could literally be an episode where 10 people literally say: they are in love with each other. And I still wouldn't feel/believe it. How are they even doing that?

I think this has possibly become a colossal case of “tell not show”. In fact it’s what a lot of heterosexual couples go through on screen - relationships that pop up out of seemingly nowhere, other characters being like “they’d be cute together” and then they suddenly fall into each other’s arms and nobody bats and eyelid because a) they’re straight, and b) it’s been foreshadowed by things all the other characters have apparently observed. Now clearly we don’t have (a) but maybe the fact (b) is so prominent these days might work in our favour. Maybe this is opening doors for Dean and Cas to get together later on without the writers feeling like they’re ~compromising~ the inherent heterosexuality of the show. Maybe it’s the writers trying to get romantic shit past the producers’ radars, so the producers don’t think Dean and Cas are going to have a chance to engage in visual coitus every week, but when Destiel does eventually happen, it’ll make so much narrative sense that these damn producers won’t be able to say “hey, wtf is this gay-ass shit”. because it’s fucking been building up so obviously that they can’t deny it. AND THEN THEY KISS

Now that one. Now that I suspect would hurt something awful.

Can we talk about how powerful and incredible that line is?

Now that one.”

Already Cain’s acknowledging that “that one” is a big one. That Castiel is an important and predominant figure in Dean’s life. That one. A whole separate sentence just to put emphasis on his point.

Now that I suspect would hurt something awful.

What Cain suspect is that Dean loves Cas the way he loved Colette. He suspects it because it’s not shown by Dean and Cas the same way it was for him and Colette, not yet anyway. The best we got was Dean including Cas when he said “the people who love me.” We don’t know what Cain knows exactly, what he’s heard, what he’s seen, but he knows enough to know that Cas is special. And he thinks he knows Dean, he talks like he knows Dean’s life and Dean’s heart. And he wants to prove it to him with every word. “Even though you never said it, I suspect that you love him.” That’s what he’s saying. “And killing the person you love, it hurts something awful. I know that.“ And he’s also saying ”I know you, maybe even better than you do. I see you and him, and I see myself in you.

Killing Cas, Cain knows, will be a special kind of pain for Dean because he remembers how it felt to kill Colette. Cain truly believes that Cas is Dean’s Colette, that he’s his redemption, his savior, his lover, and that it will hurt something awful when he has to face his fate with him.

But I do think he’s underestimating the nature and power of the bond between Dean and Cas. And I just can’t wait to see how it unfolds.

I suspect.” The bolded is so accurate. What a perfectly written phrase. God damn.

lmao i thought cain was gonna say dean’s ultimate weakness was cas

Cas’ weakness is he’s in love… with humanity

Dean’s ultimate weakness is… courage

Guess we have a new nickname for Cas now

So…

Dean = tinman, Cas = lion, Sam = scarecrow?

This is why we were taught maths in school.

Dean’s in trouble.

radianthannah:

Dean Winchester is pure good and nobody will take that away from me. Cain was going to kill him. He had the Blade to Dean’s throat, and yet, when Dean had the upper hand, when he could easily kill Cain, he says, “Tell me I don’t have to do this. Tell me you can stop.” Because Dean has always believed in other people. Stronger than anything, is his belief that people can do good, even if it’s not immediately apparent.

Oh Dean, I just hope one day you can believe in yourself too.

mikahyakyuaaa:

Then you kill the angel Castiel. And that, I would suspect, — that would hurt something awful.
