It doesn’t matter what Cain said… Dean would never hurt Cas.

Cain’s life in reverse

charlie-minion:

Friendly reminder for those who thought Sam could be the parallel to Colette: Cain specifically paralled him to Abel in tonight’s episode. Besides, he said Dean’s living his life in reverse. “My story began when I killed my brother and that’s where your story inevitably will end.” Cain said Dean will kill Crowley and have “strange mixed feelings on that one”. He also said: “And then you’ll kill the angel, Castiel. Now that one… That I suspect will hurt something awful.” Like this?

Sam can’t be Dean’s Colette because he will represent Dean’s Abel. Cain’s story began with his brother and Dean’s is supposed to end with his brother too. To Cain, it’s pretty clear what Dean’s brother represents in his life. But why does Cain SUSPECT killing Castiel will hurt Dean “something awful”? I wonder WHO Cain killed (out of the thousands that he murdered) that caused him such pain. *sarcasm*

sam-winchester-ships-destiel:

um

is it just me

or did they just canonically say that castiel was dean’s colette……..?

cain being all “yo your life is mine in reverse first you will kill castiel and then sam”

like how cain killed abel then colette

but in reverse………?

but i got no freaking idea about where crowley fits in

he’s like

that one weird uncle

Say what you will about The Executioners Song but don’t even try to tell me that it didn’t radically expand on the Dean/Cas parallels with Cain/Colette. First of all, we have the whole line about “living my life in reverse” where Cain tells Dean he killed his brother first, and then his lover. He then tells Dean he would kill Cas, then Sam. In this hypothetical, Cas fills the spot of the lover. Then Cain tells Dean that the blade is the only thing standing between him and Cain’s fate and DEAN MARCHES STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BARN AND HANDS IT TO CAS. I am just so emotional about Cas as Colette okay I’m sorry dont talk to me. that’s a lie, do talk to me all the time anytime, especially if you have cas/colette headcanons

Then you kill the angel Castiel. And that, I would suspect, — that would hurt something awful.

I was too busy dying over everything else in the episode because this came so late, but he leans on Cas for support as he’s walking up the stairs.

He didn’t have to, he probably could have taken those stairs fine if he had to walk up them alone, but Cas was standing on them and so he put his hand on Cas’s shoulder and pressed down with enough force to seriously shove his shoulder down a bit (btw filed under: the further adventures of Destiel shoulder touching).

If you’re not extremely emotionally compromised by Dean using Cas as a support after all this time, leaning on Cas, I don’t even know what to say to you about this. :P

I mean yeah that was also the whole point of giving him the blade, but here’s an immediate follow up I need you to hold me up through this, thanks.

angelswatchingover:

If dean has to live Cain’s story in reverse. Does that mean:

● First - killing spree
● Next - lose Cas (Collette parallel)
● Then - rule over the Knights of Hell aka dethrone Crowley
● Finally - kill his brother

… Then you kill the angel Castiel. And that, I would suspect—That would hurt something awful.

I just can’t get over how good Cain’s hair looks in this episode

“What do you mean?”
Knife me, smite me, throw me into the freakin’ sun. Whatever.”

If you think I’m not terrified that they’re setting Cas up to use the First Blade on Dean you are woefully, woefully wrong…

But what if when the day Cas has to use the blade comes and he just can’t do it, so Dean gets a hold of it and we get a reverse scene of the crypt in which Cas tells him this isn’t Dean. When finally Cas breaks through him, instead of dropping the blade (like Cas did in 8x17), Dean just uses it on himself (which, btw, wouldn’t kill him ‘cause Cain did that and he didn’t die). It’d be a hell of a cliff hanger, don’t you think?

deanisanactualprincess:

ok but what if dean is faced with killing cas like cain said and its the exact opposite of the crypt scene

Thank you. It is certainly making me smile. But when it comes to canon destiel. i think I will just stop hoping because it is doing nothing for me. At this point I'd be happy if cas and dean could be best friends again. I feel like we screamed so much for destiel and now the writers are torturing us and not even giving us friendship so don't "annoy" them anymore. I am a pessimist by nature though so :D But really thank you :) I am going to indulge myself in fanon destiel now

when in doubt, bathe in the bubbles of fanon

I think you’ve got the right idea there, anon <3

You don't know how much I would love to believe that. But at this point I just can't. I never even had any hope for canon destiel (not even while watching season 8) but I never really thought I would feel as if dean and cas aren't even friends. It's like knowing something is there but just not feeling it. But the again this is nothing new. It has been building up since the start of season 9

trust me, they’re friends. everything is just happening off-screen. I know you feel down but just remember this was only 5 episodes ago

this was an intimate conversation between two emotionally close friends

and if you think Dean and Cas share anything less than a deep and lasting friendship, then I think you might need a reassuring hug from certain angel in a trenchcoat or the very tall moose (because they both love Dean and that love ain’t going nowhere)
