You know what’s so precious about “Mint Condition?” Sam specifically chose a ghost hunt at a comic store because he knew for a fact that it would finally get Dean out of his room and on a hunt, and had the best chance of any to get him out of his funk, even for a moment.

Sam saw the slam dunk, and actually ended up getting it. The whole episode, he wasn’t one time surprised at how Hardcore Nerd Dean went. He enjoyed it.

It’s some of the best caretaking we’ve seen in this show in a long time.

We always think of Dean as the caretaker, but Sam knows how to take care of Dean too :)

MAJOR improvement over Sam’s performance in 13.05… but granted it was a much lower bar than literally suicidal Dean… But still… this was excellent. It wasn’t chili fries and alcohol and strippers he lured Dean out with, but all the nerdy stuff that he still feels is escapist fantasy from his childhood.

Ya’ll ever wonder if Dean uses ‘we’ statements with Cas because he fears he isn’t enough?

#UHHHHHHH #p a i n #we’ve been assuming it was gay denial all the time……. but it was really…………… self esteem #oh shit fam (via @ozonecologne)

7x20. The Girl with the Dungeons and Dragons Tattoo.

(Look at how confident Dean is in the first gif that this will work, though - and flirting your way through security, that’s not something you’re sure can actually be done unless you’ve done it before, because with the lives they’ve had, the Winchesters are painfully aware of the difference between movies and reality. So, no, Dean knows exactly how to make this technique work - because he’s used it before. And how many women work in this field? Police, security guards, bouncers? Mh.

So, again - the fact Dean can flirt with men doesn’t mean, in itself, that Dean actually likes men. Dean is a liar and a conman, and finding a way past security guards is simply a part of his job. But considering everything else we know about him, and - mostly - that TV narrative is very different from real life - yeah.)

Yeah - and in this episode Charlie is used to knowingly establish that false premise that you can only flirt with the gender(s) you’re interested in…

Yep. It wouldn’t actually mean anything that Dean routinely used flirting in order to get past security guards, because yes, he is a con man and it is part of his job. Except Charlie’s insistence that the lack of attraction to a particular gender makes said flirting inherently impossible, requiring the intervention of someone who does have an attraction to that particular gender. And Sam and Dean BOTH just roll with this rationale as if it’s a completely valid premise.

(and note, it’s not Sam who walks her through flirting with the dude, and it’s not Sam who we routinely see flirting his way past security guards, bouncers, and male police officers throughout the series, either… Sam prefers sneaking, bluffing, and assuming the guise of an authority figure in order to talk his way through these situations– or straight up lost-puppy innocent bumbling and apologies. Dean’s FIRST thought, his gut instinct, is flirting.)

(because again this is how Sam and Dean differ. Sam attempts to baffle obstacles by “selling himself” to them with puppydog eyes and logic, while Dean attempts to baffle obstacles by “selling them to themselves.” Aka, flattery and flirting.)

Hey, hey. Dean, Dean? Are you good? Are you good? All right, I got you.

Sam’s tactics for goading Dean into action to drive Michael out:

- driving baby like a lunatic and scuffing her tyres, spoiling the leather with juice and beetroot salad

- scratching Dean’s records and pulling the tape out of his cassettes while he calls him up so he can hear the whine as they unravel

- leaving the bunker kitchen an absolute mess and texting him pictures of it getting worse every few days

- finding someone to flirt outrageously with Cas

Tink this post gave me an ulcer

CAS. CAS is here too.

13x22//Exodus

Bobby and all his people have been fighting angels for years now. Many of their friends and families have most likely been killed by angels. Some hours and one mission together won’t make them magically like Castiel, even if he’s an angel who’s come from a different world and just wants to help. Of course they will toast to the humans, the sons of the woman who’s been fighting by their side for months. The exodus was Sam’s plan, anyway. I love Cas (and no one can even doubt that’s true), but not everything always has to be about him.

Dean Winchester + Emotional Intelligence (8/?)

Just another early example of Dean’s emotional intelligence. He doesn’t push Sam to talk about things. This is very much a statement of I’m here, I see what’s going on but I’m giving you space right now. Not forever, because you need to talk about it eventually, but you’ve got the space you obviously want right now. This is a huge marker of emotional intelligence, the ability to not only listen and understand what another person needs, but to give it to them too. And Dean has this ability in spades. From the beginning, he’s had it in spades. {1.05}
