There’s nothing wrong with sex, people.

asexualeducation:

- Having sex every day.
- Saving sex for your wedding night.
- Never having sex.
- Having sex with different people.
- Having sex with one person.
- Having sex with a person of your same gender.
- Loving sex.
- Hating sex.
- Being loud.
- Being quiet.

The only thing wrong with sex?

When it’s not consensual.

Because that’s not sex. That’s rape.

reblogging again because i can.

An author who writes in a racist character to his story is not racist.

An author who writes in an offensive character to his story is not offensive.

An author is not his characters.

Thank you.

There’s a thing you need to know about: it’s called RESPECT.

You guys can be creepy stalkers all you want and google things until your fingers fall off, but once you find something (like a photo of Misha’s house or Sasha’s phone number), you need to KEEP THAT SHIT TO YOURSELF. Do you guys even REALIZE how far over the line that’s crossing? Leave his family and his brother alone.

Misha’s done nothing but be AMAZINGLY kind to us, the fans. He did GISHWHES for us, he goes to conventions for us, he arranged the Pasadena thing for us, he lets us go to Haiti with him, and he let a bunch of people run AMOK with him.

He has a really, really amazing relationship with us and this is how you’re going to repay that? You’re going to destroy it.

If you want to be a stalker, go ahead, but KEEP THE SHIT YOU FIND TO YOURSELF. Don’t post it on tumblr where ANYONE could find it and seriously harm him or his family.

Christ almighty.

#yes it’s easy to google things and get information but you don’t have to share it with the world #just because he’s somewhat famous doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve privacy and respect #and goddamn LEAVE HIS FUCKING FAMILY OUT OF IT #LEAVE SASHA ALONE PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY

I have no clue if this is possible, but if you see these kinds of posts, please report them! People need to learn to leave well enough alone!!!

Yes, this! All this! If you happen to know where Misha or anyone else famous lives, KEEP IT TO YOURSELF. Those are the homes where they lives with their spouses. Those are the homes where they raise their families. The DESERVE a place where they don’t need to worry about crazy fans.

             I AM NOT A THREAT.

  • I AM NOT a predator
  • I AM NOT a murderer
  • I AM NOT DANGEROUS.
  • I AM living somewhere that has nobody with the same humor, interests, intelligence, or tastes as I do.
  • I AM talking to your son or daughter because THEY DO.
  • I AMwishing you wouldn’t judge me when you don’t know me.

This is for Jay, first and foremost. She’s 17 years old and received a pair of mouse earrings for Christmas from one of her online friends. (She’s in the Charles/Erik fandom and they signified Charles, who gets represented as a mouse in a lot of fandom references)

Her parents flipped out, ignored the fact that I was willing to have a conversation with them on the phone in order to keep RPing with her via text and email, and completely banned her from the internet. That was months ago, and she still can’t come back. They’ve completely disregarded her assurances that we are RP partners, friends who like the same fandom, and assume that all of us are sexual predators who just want to find where she lives and kidnap her and do unspeakable things to her.

I’m getting sick of this stereotype, I hate that parents assume everyone on the internet is a sexual predator, and their kid is the #1 victim. I feel like this is insulting to the child AND their friends, because you assume that your kid is susceptible and stupid and can’t tell the difference between who is and isn’t a creep.

I’m not saying that there aren’t kids like that, but maybe you should stop assuming your kid is one of them.

We come to the internet to find friends, we come here to find people who like to read and write and draw and make funny faces and horrible photoshop manipulations. We don’t come here to get off, to stalk children or bully anyone.

So please signal boost this, because I want Jay’s parents to realize that there is no reasonfor them to punish their daughter. Not when all she’s done was find friends who like what she likes, and encourage her to write and share her talent with the rest of us.

When the web started, I used to get really grumpy with people because they put my poems up. They put my stories up. They put my stuff up on the web. I had this belief, which was completely erroneous, that if people put your stuff up on the web and you didn’t tell them to take it down, you would lose your copyright, which actually, is simply not true.

And I also got very grumpy because I felt like they were pirating my stuff, that it was bad. And then I started to notice that two things seemed much more significant. One of which was… places where I was being pirated, particularly Russia where people were translating my stuff into Russian and spreading around into the world, I was selling more and more books. People were discovering me through being pirated. Then they were going out and buying the real books, and when a new book would come out in Russia, it would sell more and more copies. I thought this was fascinating, and I tried a few experiments. Some of them are quite hard, you know, persuading my publisher for example to take one of my books and put it out for free. We took “American Gods,” a book that was still selling and selling very well, and for a month they put it up completely free on their website. You could read it and you could download it. What happened was sales of my books, through independent bookstores, because that’s all we were measuring it through, went up the following month three hundred percent

I started to realize that actually, you’re not losing books. You’re not losing sales by having stuff out there. When I give a big talk now on these kinds of subjects and people say, “Well, what about the sales that I’m losing through having stuff copied, through having stuff floating out there?” I started asking audiences to just raise their hands for one question. Which is, I’d say, “Okay, do you have a favorite author?” They’d say, “Yes.” and I’d say, “Good. What I want is for everybody who discovered their favorite author by being lent a book, put up your hands.” And then, “Anybody who discovered your favorite author by walking into a bookstore and buying a book raise your hands.” And it’s probably about five, ten percent of the people who actually discovered an author who’s their favorite author, who is the person who they buy everything of. They buy the hardbacks and they treasure the fact that they got this author. Very few of them bought the book. They were lent it. They were given it. They did not pay for it, and that’s how they found their favorite author. And I thought, “You know, that’s really all this is. It’s people lending books. And you can’t look on that as a loss of sale. It’s not a lost sale, nobody who would have bought your book is not buying it because they can find it for free.”

What you’re actually doing is advertising. You’re reaching more people, you’re raising awareness. Understanding that gave me a whole new idea of the shape of copyright and of what the web was doing. Because the biggest thing the web is doing is allowing people to hear things. Allowing people to read things. Allowing people to see things that they would never have otherwise seen. And I think, basically, that’s an incredibly good thing.

So I really like this comment from that new Cas article.

everdeen:

“I have faith that they have a bigger plan for Cas but yes, there would be a lot of anger if they brought him back just to kill him. Of course, let’s not read into the “closure” thing too much. It could easily be “closure” to the “Cas as God/Leviathan” story which we didn’t really get. I was a little disappointed that we didn’t get to see more of Leviathan-Cas and that we didn’t see a little more reaction to his “death”, but I’m loving the season so far. Not everyone may be a fan of them taking away everything from the boys, but I think it takes some guts by the writers.

But I’ll say what I said on another Supernatural post a while back: my hopes are that the season ends with Cas redeeming himself by “sacrificing” himself to stop the Leviathans. Except what he only ends up sacrificing his time as an angel, becoming completely human (as we saw would happen in the future if Lucifer and Michael were allowed to fight). Season 8 would have Cas back in the main cast, tagging along in the Impala and taking his rightful place as one of the brothers. Cas learning how to be human would open up a lot of comedic and dramatic possibilities for his storyline as well as how Dean and Sam treat him. Perhaps they would start treating him like the younger brother they need to watch out for, in the same way Dean would treat Sam.

That in no way means it would become Cas: The TV Show. That would just be part of the season. In my mind, the show stopped being about two brothers in season 4. It became a show about four brothers: Dean, Sam, Cas, and Bobby. The show grew and changed and I hope to see them work with that and build on that foundation in the future.”

The Doctor is not like a character in a comic book. You cannot pluck him out and create an entire new canon and series and plot around him. The doctor is who he is because of everything he has gone through over 50 years of television, Old Who and New Who, because of ending the Time War, because of Daleks and Cybermen and Weeping Angels and The Silence and every single creature we have ever seen him defeat, because of every time he’s saved our world or other worlds, because of every companion who has ever come into his life and changed it for the better or worse. You cannot change that. You cannot get rid of that. Because without the last 50 years, the Doctor is not Our Doctor and without Our Doctor, then Doctor Who is nothing.

“Don’t you dare do that again, you stupid son of a bitch.”
Or something like that, maybe?  I have no idea!  Cas just has to stop trailing seaweed on the carpet, gosh.  Bobby’s got guests to entertain these days.
