The Impala was filthy at the end of Reichenbach 10.02 but when Sam brought the blood back to the bunker at the beginning of Soul Survivor 10.03 it had been cleaned. That means Sam got his brother home, secured him in the dungeon, then headed to a car wash before getting what he needed to start the cure. 

The Impala has been Sam’s home for most of his life, it gave him the strength to take control away from Lucifer, it comforted him the times Dean died and he was on his own. Dean may love the Impala most but it holds a special place in Sam’s heart too.

No. They showed an overhead shot of the Impala driving down the street and then this pan to it in front of the bunker. The fact that those two shots were put into the episode has meaning. They had to use crane cameras for that, those are expensive, they take time and effort to set up, and are used sparingly on Supernatural because of the tight budget and filming schedule. Plus, those two shots of the Impala weren’t necessary to the overall plot of the episode, they could have been cut out entirely. The fact that all that effort and money was put into two Impala scenes proves that they wanted us to focus on the Impala. You do not orchestrate two separate scenes revolving around a key prop and then fuck up the details on that prop. The prop department, the producers, and the director would all have collaborated on those scenes to make sure the extra time and money was worth it, meaning they would have discussed and inspected the Impalathoroughly. And Soul Survivor was directed by Jensen Ackles, he certainly wouldn’t have fucked up and forgotten that in Reichenbach the Impala was filthy, that was an important detail to his character and not something an actor would forget. They wanted us to notice that the car was now clean, there is no other reason for those scenes to be included and for so much time and money to have been devoted to them

I will never understand how some fans can be so critical that even when something good happens they insist it had to have been an accident

Dean’s bedroom is always very telling when it comes to his current state of mind. In many ways, it is an extension of his soul. The last time we saw it there were two crosses above his bed, now there is only one. This single cross is now sitting directly above the empty spot on Dean’s bed, with his pillow once again pushed off to one side. The last time a cross sat in this position was back in 8x16, when he was praying to Cas to return to him. Not only did a cross occupy this space, but Castiel himself did as well, the outline of his body standing directly in front of that empty spot.

And we can’t forget the pie… oh that cherry pie. Pie has been symbolic of Cas for quite some time, and Sam just so happened to find some in Dean’s room* earlier in the episode. It was cherry though, not pecan… a substitute for when the thing he truly desires isn’t available. Later on in the episode Cas would find himself in Dean’s bedroom as well. How fitting, Dean’s substitute pie is found there, then later on he finally gets the real thing…

But still; the other side of Dean’s bed is occupied. Photos, all the books - stuff of his past that he still can’t quite let go. Until he deals with his past - really deals with it and not just ignoring it again - there won’t be a place beside Dean for Cas.

That is a very good point, and he sat there remembering the past until Cas walked in and then he began to put it all away. First he hid the pictures, then he got up off the bed and started clearing away the books and papers… he was making room, but as always Cas was being pulled away by duty…
