The Earthship concept is the brainchild of Michael Reynolds, who has written several books on the topic. Near Taos New Mexico, where he has his Earthship Biotecture business, are whole communities of earthships. The basic earthship design incorporates substantially bermed, passive solar architecture. The primary retaining walls are constructed with used tires, filled with earth and stacked up like bricks. The interior surface of the tires is then plastered with adobe or cement so the tires don’t normally show. Mike has also pioneered the use of empty aluminum cans mortared into lightweight, curvable walls. Earthships often employ many ecological concepts, such as water catchment from the roof, reuse of greywater, composting toilets, indoor gardening, etc.
I'll offer the dissenting opinion I guess, which makes me kind of sad. I agree with the anon. There's a difference between being proud of your work and extolling your own greatness. Your statement //was// arrogant. Sorry. :(
I’m finishing an improvised mural at my awesome cousin Kirsi’s house. I started working on it last year and keep drawing new bits every now and then untill the wall is full. It’s a giant nostalgic oriental metropolis, drawn with paint markers.
After Cas banishes Dean’s nightmares, Dean starts to have wet dreams… about being cuddled. When he wakes, he’s sticky and aroused - and he loves it. Oh, he loves it a lot. Castiel, meanwhile, is struggling with his own descent into the murky waters of human morality. How is he supposed to explore all these new lustful feelings if Dean insists on keeping him at arm’s length?
I just calculated that I have another 10+ solid days of writing to do on my DCBB before the story is over. The draft was finished, but then I had brainwave after brainwave and now (aside from my brain being thoroughly radiated), I may have another 100k to add. My writing process is disastrous.
And so I must again announce that tumblr updates may (or may not) slow considerably. I’m still here. Just… very busy. (the kind of “busy” that makes me laugh hysterically at this entire situation)
Since there is so much back and forth, I feel that people need to have this video to get the context of what happened.
I’m really upset about this. My response to the girl’s question was of exasperation which you can hear (I say “Aye Dios Mio.”) She DOES start asking about the subtext in the show. When I heard the crowd collectively booing though, I got really uncomfortable with my own response and also theirs. When I heard Jensen’s response, I was stunned into silence and didn’t record, take pics, or really even hear the questions for a bit.
You cannot see this in the video, but I was on the side the girl was on, very close. As soon as everyone starts booing, Clif, who was standing right near her, goes up to her and began having a conversation with her. She stood to the side for a bit after she stepped away from the mic (which was right after she said “I meant no disrespect”) and I thought perhaps Clif had heard all of her question and was going to let her ask or she was going to ask a new question, but after a bit she walked away.
On the way out of the panel, my friend said she saw the girl in the ballroom, wiping at her face. I didn’t see her myself, but I don’t think you need to be a genius to guess she was upset.
What happened was not okay. Jensen needs a better response. Fandom needs a better response. We need to safeguard against this, either through screening questions or the actor being a bit more adult about it and owning up by saying “that’s not how I intended to play it, but you’re welcome to your interpretation.” These types of questions are not going away; we need to learn how to interact with them like adults. All of us. Myself included.
That’s it, Jensen was rude to the girl & he needs to be called out on it.
