On the off-chance that someone else than me finds numbers entertaining, I’m going to share some stats with you. Because my job can be incredibly boring sometimes and I have to entertain myself somehow, I started to mess around with Excel, collecting all the info about Dean/Castiel Big Bang from 2010 to 2016. At first, I just wanted to know how many works there were in total, but then I started to wonder about the average word count, and one thing lead another, and before I knew it, I wanted to know what was the longest title ever used. (It has 86 characters, by the way.)
So, I ended up with this: [DCBB Statistics] The link leads to a Google Sheets file, (hopefully) viewable to everyone, and you can comment on it if you’d like.
Examples of stats I got:
DCBB success rate is 39 % on average. The worst year was 2015, with only 25 % of people finishing their fics.
The average number of fic posted per year is 121, with 103 Big Bangs and 18 Mini Bangs. The most popular year was 2015 with 182 works.
The average word count of a Big Bang is 44,748. The average length of current Big Bangs is over 10,000 words longer compared to Big Bangs in 2010.
The longest fic ever written for DCBB had 407,057 words. (Angelhawke by @almaasi)

+ Jensen may have not been completely sober… Said fuck on stage, stripped out of his jacket (twice), and went off on quite a few long tangents.
+ Threw shade to Timothy for drinking coffee at 5pm, said 5pm is “Apple juice time.”
+ Almost gave a spoiler for the season finale, had to ask us what’s happened so far on the show before he would share details about the scene. When crowd told Jensen what’s happened so far, he said, “Yeah, hasn’t happened yet.”
+ Jensen talked about how there’s a lot of changes going on in the crew/writers, etc. Spoke highly of Andrew Dabb. Said we shouldn’t have reason to need to be forgiving of what’s to come with him at the helm.
+ Jensen would like to film a scene where he confronts John about “taking his childhood”. – Talks about the fact that Sam had an imaginary friend and Dean didn’t and it was because he didn’t really have a childhood. Instead he was his father’s apprentice, his student. Mentioned at the time, Dean thought it was good to get out of school and what not, but later in life he realized it wasn’t okay.
+ Question was asked about the difference between Sam and Dean’s reaction to Cas saying “yes” and being possessed by Lucifer. Jensen said that Sam may have been more focused on the bigger picture while Dean was focused on Cas and whether or not he was coming back, whether or not he’d be a part of the team again. Said if Cas wasn’t coming back, that’s a loss Dean would not deal with well.
+ Waxed poetic often about fans and SPN family etc.
+ When asked if he would be in a DC or Marvel film, which one/who. Whatever it is, not too tight. Something with a big flowy cape. “I’m leather man.” He said.
+ Misha came on stage (after asking a question. Jensen asked where Misha was from, Misha said, “India Russia.”), Jensen asked, “Did you come to relieve me?” Misha said, “No, we don’t do that!” Jensen asked the crowd to turn away for a minute.
+ When his panel was over and Misha’s was beginning, Jensen asked if he had to leave.
I’m sure I’ve missed things and not everything is quoted 100% directly, but there you go.
I don’t normally post pics of myself and even once I have the jpgs, I’ll probably keep most of my photo ops private but this one of J2M turned out too cute not to share.
I basically said to Jensen (while barely looking up so that I maintained the ability to speak) “You can make whatever kind of face you want to, but I’d like you in the middle while we hug and love on you.”
I was so zoned into the fact I was holding onto Jensen, it didn’t even register to me that Jared had his arm around me!
