Again? Seriously? Look guys, I’m gonna say it again because clearly you’re not understanding: yes, I am seeking attention. Literally that is the point. That’s how I get my readers, and I am going to continue doing it because I want people to read my fics. Is it arrogant? You could see it that way, sure. Am I forcing people to read my fics? No. Am I annoying people with my replies? Possibly, but anyone who is bothered by me sharing some positive feedback can a) blacklist the tag “#Elmie writes things”, or b) unfollow me. THIS IS WHAT MY BLOG IS ABOUT. I AM GOING TO BLOG ABOUT WRITING. IT’S MY THING, AND I LIKE MY THING. Like, I don’t get why it’s a big deal. I want other writers to do the same thing, I want people to be CONFIDENT about the crap they make.
Also I would like to point out that the only negative feedback I ever really get on my fics is either 1. really helpful to me as a writer, or 2. someone complaining that I talk about my fics publicly. I welcome constructive criticism - it hurts for about a day, but then I realise whoever complained was right, and I make changes accordingly. However, when people complain about me replying to messages publicly, frankly it’s not helpful to me at all. The number of people I piss off with my replies is far outranked by the number of people who find my stories via my replies. I’m kind of over being told to stop.
