So from Misha’s M&G it turns out he wasn’t actually beaten or mugged, he fell down and face planted and then he was pick pocketed. Maybe that’s why Jensen and Jared made the “muggy” and “mugged for the camera” joke because they knew he wasn’t actually mugged. Misha still should file a police report. Jim Beaver is probably hella embarrassed that he said Misha was beaten and robbed.
So Misha felt that it wasn’t actually assault? Because he was drunk and fell face first? I have family members who are policemen and they always say to report a crime no matter how small because there could be a pattern or someone could of had the same experience, they’ll just keep it on file and be aware that in that area there are 3 guys pick pocketing so any police in that area will be alert to that fact. Misha should file a report, unless the pickpocket never actually happened.

Yeah, Jim did delete his Facebook post. Maybe it was because he realized he hadn’t gotten the story quite right. (When I hastily get told things by my friends, possibly via other mutual friends, I don’t always get all the details right on first try either.) Or maybe he was contacted by news sites and decided he didn’t want to be a source. I think he only wanted to reassure the fans and maybe wasn’t aware that Misha is more mainstream newsworthy than he used to be.
Let’s see, what’s your next complaint. I don’t know whether Misha filed a police report and neither do you. Furthermore, I don’t care. And I don’t see why you should either, unless you’re a stalkery celebrity hater spending all your time trying to find proof that Misha is this shady character that you’ve made him out to be in your head because he had the audacity to become popular on Supernatural and friends with the Js.
I see you’re changing the story a bit from the M&G reports, aren’t you a clever little devil? But if we go by what the people actually IN the M&G said in their tumblr posts, Misha was grabbed from behind by three guys who pinned his arms and tried to go through his pockets without showing him their faces, and when he struggled to get loose, he fell on his face. Makes sense to me – he couldn’t catch himself, since his arms were pinned and he couldn’t get his hands in front of himself fast enough.
Maybe the Js were implying something with the mugging jokes, although that doesn’t sound like a very nice thing to do and I think they’re pretty nice people. Or maybe they were trying to defuse the situation and make Misha feel normal and safe again. I guess it depends on how you view the Js.
I can understand why Misha said he didn’t feel it was assault, especially if the fans at the M&G made it clear to him what the fandom were thinking at the time. A scenario where someone is beaten with fists or objects, possibly kicked in the face, and gets his face slammed into the ground, is very different from one where he simply gets immobilized and then falls down in the struggle to free himself. It’s still assault, but it’s a very different picture.
You and your police officer family members are probably right, filing a police report could possibly be helpful to the police in their future work in the area. I’ll be sure to let Misha know that the next time we have tea.
Oh, and about your version of events where Misha was drunk, faceplanted and then was pickpocketed, presumably while lying on the ground snoring drunkenly: That would imply he was so embarrassed by these events that he made up a story about being attacked. Misha? Embarrassed? Did you know he once pissed himself inside a Santa suit because he was so very drunk he couldn’t get himself out of the suit in time? I know that. Because he told us, at a con panel. That’s how easily embarrassed he is. I’ll spare you all the other super embarrassing stories he’s gleefully told about himself, but the conclusion is: I believe it happened just as he says it happened.
