INNER THIGH STROKING?!?!?!?! AGAIN?? WHY DO MISHA AND JENSEN DO THIS WHEN THEY TALK ABOUT EACH OTHER

okay I googled it, because I need some science to explain this

in terms of body language (let’s ignore the heteronormativity): “Rubbing the upper thigh usually signals a desire to be touched in this way or that one is rubbing the sweat from the palms. […] Women often replicate the types of touching they would like to receive. […] Men are programmed to find this alluring. […] Self-touching releases positive hormones in the body that produce a calming effect.” [x]

“Touching the thighs draws attention to them. As the thighs are near the genitals, touching can be very suggestive. The nearer the genitals the hands move, the more inviting it is. Touching the inside of the leg is more suggestive than touching the outside of the leg.” [x]

and I also looked up the thigh muscles and got “Cremasteric reflex”: “The cremasteric reflex is a superficial (i.e., close to the skin’s surface) reflex observed in human males. […] The normal response is an immediate contraction of the cremaster muscle that pulls up the ipsilateral testis.” [x] (and I looked up “ipsilateral” and it means “belonging to or occurring on the same side of the body.” so a stroke on the left thigh pulls up the left testicle.)

SO BASICALLY WHEN THEY TOUCH THEIR INNER THIGHS, IT’S A SEXUALLY-MOTIVATED SELF-SOOTHING GESTURE THAT CAUSES THEIR BALLS TO TIGHTEN, WHICH IS THE SAME THING THAT HAPPENS WHEN THEY’RE AROUSED

(the whole “Come fly with me!” “My feet are stuck!” exchange is still one of my favourites, but maybe I’m biased.)
