WAIT JUST ONE SECOND.
CAN WE JUST TALK ABOUT WHAT THAT SYMBOL MEANS
the image of a heart with an arrow through it originates from those ancient myths of the cherub angel Cupid. Cupid shoots arrows into people’s hearts to make them fall in love. it’s become the recognised symbol for such things as Valentine’s Day, romance, love, GENERAL GROSSNESS, you catch my drift. it’s the thing teenagers doodle on their schoolwork around the name of their crush. there’s no mistaking its meaning.
I want to cite one of my own Destiel fics as a source because I’m an asshole and it’s actually relevant. this extract is from Symbols of Affection (a 5k fluff piece in which Dean texts Cas a hearteyes emoji by mistake.)
The best part, Dean supposed, was the last emoticon. The heart with the arrow through it. It was romantic love; nobody ever used that symbol for anything else, not unless prehistoric murder came up in conversation.
I asked Jensen at his autos about how they came up with the idea for the yana videos and his face lit up when he was talking about misha and he started talking about how him and misha came together to get the idea for the campaign and how it was Misha’s idea and he thought it was good and so they started the campaign together I was like no I mean for the videos and he was like oh the videos, it was Misha’s idea and I just went with it.
Seems like Misha having ideas and Jensen just going along with it is something that happens often.
