For Kings & Kingdoms;
The betrothal and nuptials between the King of Camelot & the King of Essetir’s second son Prince Emrys had been arranged to cement a peace treaty between the two bordering Kingdoms. The Kingdoms were once strong allies but Uther’s ambition forced conflict. Merlin, formally known as Prince Emrys, has never been one to follow the rules. Much to his protector and best friend’s possible demise if the King were to ever find out Merlin abandons the court on their slow journey, during which they will visit many villages and pay their respect, and arrives at Camelot a week early to cause havoc. Or meet his intended, so he claims.In a different yet similar mind Arthur was thinking up many ways to execute the envoy sent from Essetir to make his life hell, without offending the King and causing a war. In truth, Arthur had grown quite fond of Mervin & his ridiculous name. Despite Mervin’s prying and Arthur’s instincts to push away he found it easy to confide in him. Arthur did not know what it was to be a good husband, his nerves were not of his feelings towards the Prince, he would love him no matter what, but the Prince’s towards him. After the initial shock of Mervin’s real identity had faded away Arthur felt an immense amount of relief and hope. Anyway, Arthur thought as he stared into the dull crowd of Essetir’s court, brightened only by one single person, Merlin looked good in blue but he’ll look better in red.
