The fact that he noticed the leaf in his hair. There’s no other royal person in the whole of Albion who would notice these things about their servants much less touch them and talk about why they missed work in such a domestic way. Arthur is basically cleaning Merlin by removing the leaf which is a complete reversal of their usual roles and it doesn’t even occur to either of them
