The atmosphere on that set it’s just… those guys and gals and crew… they work so hard and so long and look, I ditch Vancouver in the fall and they’re just starting up and I know what’s coming for them. What’s coming is darkness and rain and cold and I seriously think of the Supernatural crew every year as I’m driving south into the sunshine going oh man - because some are my friends - and I can’t believe what they have to start up with. So it can be a miserable place and they work very long hours and they work in some really intense storylines and yet there’s a lightness - certainly to Jensen, I didn’t meet Jared - but I was really pleasantly - not surprised - but I was just really happy to meet him right away. He’s just gracious and inviting and welcoming and it’s amazing.. when you’re working as a guest star on a TV show it’s the hardest job in television, I think, as an actor - because you have to show up to set and you have to work with these people who’ve known each other for sometimes years - in their case nine years and in our case on Psych 8 years - and it’s got to be seamless and you got to feel comfortable and the more that the regulars can do to make an actor feel comfortable the better. [snip] It’s as simple as saying hello to the person in the makeup trailer.. it’s just sort of common courtesies which are often lost in busy TV schedules when you have exhausted actors. And there was none of that on that set, on Supernatural. Jensen was just lovely from the get-go. It really helps that I had Mark Sheppard with me who played ambassador and really made sure to introduce me. [Jensen] was just lovely to meet.
