My Cockles photo op was based on this series of tweets between Jensen and Misha:
Oh Misha…. giving me ideas!!
I walked up to Misha and Jensen in a pleather skirt (god help me) and said that I read their tweets to each other about trying to find a good cosplay for ComiCon and since Misha wanted it to involve pleather & boas I thought I’d help them get a head start. That’s when I pulled the hat and two floggers out of my bag. They didn’t want to wear the boas because of getting feathers on them. But Misha immediately grabbed the hat and put it on his head.
Jensen grabbed the floggers and just stared at them for a moment and did the patented Jensen smirk and sagging head shake (you know the one, the what-the-hell-am-I-going-to-do-with-Misha one). Then Misha turned his back to Jensen and stuck out his ass and Jensen smacked it with the flogger. They were paying absolutely no attention to the fact that I’m there at this point so I became the most obvious third wheel ever in this photo op LOL.
The room erupted into laughter, especially theirs, and Jensen pointed to Misha and said, “This is your fault” as the two of them laughed. Misha looked at me and Jensen and told me, “that was a great idea.” As I headed for the door, Chris showed Jensen & Misha the picture. Misha cracked up and Jensen just shook his head in defeat.
My friend was the next person in line and in her pic, both of the boys are still laughing. It’s really adorable because Jensen has one of those unicorn laugh faces and Misha is trying to contain himself but you can see his cheeks straining. Both photo ops are priceless!
I know I’m going to be cropped out of this in a second. I’m totally third-wheeling it anyway. But I watermarked it because this is just a crappy scanned version. I was the first person in line for Cockles ops and since there had been a girl getting a Misha re-take right before me, Jensen was talking with Clif while he waited. Misha actually had to pull Jensen over to the op.
So Jensen comes up, apologizes to me for the wait, and I tell him it’s fine (I may have stuttered a little, he’s VERY pretty and this was my first time meeting him)
I give Misha the asexual pride flag and ask him to put it over his shoulders. I knew Misha already knew what the flag was (see here and here), but I was uncertain about Jensen, so I hand him the bisexual pride flag (he actually needed help getting it over both shoulders) and tell him, “Just so you know, this is the bisexual pride flag”.
He can’t hear me over the music, so he says, “What?”
So I repeat, “This is the bisexual pride flag, for people that are fans of bisexual Dean. Is this ok?” (I forget exactly what I said, but I know I mentioned what it was, why, and I checked to see if he was cool with it.)
Jensen thinks about it for a moment, then smiles and chuckles a bit. He nods and goes, “Ok, let’s do this.”
I turned to face the camera, Chris snaps the picture, and I collect the flags. Jensen actually pulled me into a hug as I was leaving. (And several people in line cheered and told me ‘thank you’.)
This was honestly pretty magical and I’m glad it turned out so well!
For Christmas, @ktk313 made this photo for me. We both always joke about how each of us act like Cas/Dean and Misha/Jensen at times and have a really strong friendship. I decided to get it signed at phxcon. Here are their reactions:
First up was Misha. He just signed it and didn’t really say much about it to me (probably because I distracted him with an auto for my friend who was too scared to get it herself). BUT he did have a pretty funny interaction with Kristen. She was right behind me getting our Misha op from earlier that day signed. As I was leaving the table, I joked about how he should sign her auto to me and walked away.
Misha realized she was the other head in the photo and told her, “It’s very romantic,” to which she replied that we were just really good friends.
Since Jensen was the next day, and since Misha thought it was destiel/cockles themed, I made sure to tell him “Misha thought this was romantic yesterday, but in fact we’re just really good friends with a friendship that could rival yours and Misha’s.”
Jensen replied, “Well, some people see this photo as romantic.”
