below: replies to a couple messages about the Destiel fic-reader surveys I posted earlier!!

thank you to the 128 people who have taken the long survey so far!!! super interesting results - especially in finding out that the people who take the short survey actually give significantly different results?? short-survey people get updates primarily through tumblr, wheras the long-survey people get them via ao3, and are more interested in buying stuff. fascinating.

a significant portion of you are bi and about the same seem to be on the ace spectrum??? THIS IS V COOL TO ME

also, y’all are cat people, closely followed by dog people. and when the fic and survey first went up, there were literally ONLY cat people, by a HUGE margin. and THEN the dog people showed up, and eventually kept pace. and that makes me wonder if cat people are faster readers. does that sound like a solid theory because it seems pretty logical to me?? like my sister said, in general, cats sit patiently and wait for stuff, and dogs get distracted

but wow i had zero idea that ~80% of my readers were white cis women?? and a bunch of non-cis men? and ONLY ONE CIS MAN??? NO CLUE WHATSOEVER i am blown away, although maybe i shouldn’t be, idk

pretty even age distribution between ages 17-45, which is cool. SO MANY of you have university degrees, or a masters degree, and as someone who dropped out of high school, i’m so proud of you (and also quietly wondering how on earth i’m somehow matching your level of intelligence with my writing)

Just now I spent a loooot of time filling our your (very fun!!) survey only to get told that my connection timed out or something at the end… so uh. did you get a response in which someone talked about writing a historical queer fiction novel? or should I go back and re-complete it… (which I am DETERMINED to do because I already did it!!!! might as well have something to show for it!!!!!)
