the following gifs were made by @sensitivehandsomeactionman, their own post is here. they’re from the 2001 TV mini-series entitled Blonde, starring Jensen Ackles and Patrick Dempsey.
in these gifs, we can observe: 1) close communication
2) shoulder squeezing
3) physical touch/affection accepted by Jensen’s character
and 4) wordless communication; flirting.
Jensen is, objectively, a great actor. he knows instinctively what certain gestures mean, he knows what a particular kind of touch or expression ought to imply. it comes naturally to him. it’s possible he empathises so deeply with his characters that he becomes them for a while. he feels what they feel. he knows how to show how they feel.
Jensen and Patrick Dempsey’s characters in Blonde are lovers who have a threesome with a woman.
and that’s some possessive shoulder-squeezing happening in the second gif. just saying.
that shoulder-squeezing is even more intense with Misha though:
we now see Jensen using the same (or very similar) gestures in real life with Misha, but their intensity is magnified tenfold. Jensen knows what those touches and gestures and expressions mean. there’s no reason they should mean anything different just because it’s in real life rather than a movie. (again, that shoulder grab? kinda possessive.)
regarding threesomes: Misha’s wife literally wrote the book on threesomes. I have a copy right beside me. it contains numerous references to M/M/F threesomes, which evidently Misha has tried.
Jensen and Patrick portrayed lovers in the movie. their intimacy was expressed through the gestures you see in the original gifset. so what does it mean when Jensen uses the same intimate signals around Misha, but with way, way more energy?
you could say he’s putting on a show, and it’s all an elaborate act for the fans at the back of the room.
but that doesn’t explain that damn shoulder squeeze, nor the grainy yellow gif of them walking in the hallway with Jensen’s arm draped over Misha. Jensen didn’t know anyone was watching then, yet their interactions are even more intimate than on stage.
it’s been said before, so I’m not saying ‘Cockles’ … but seriously. Cockles.
Okay I confess I have been watching and re-watching the autograph video more times than is good for me, and now thanks to this lovely gifset I can finally understand what they said. My new headcanon is this (all interpretation and speculation, feel free to ignore)-
Okay, Jensen’s come up to ask this completely random question out of nowhere, because he’s feeling slightly jealous of all the Mishalecki and this is his way of needling Misha a little. A sort of ‘Ha ha can you believe he’s flirting with you?’
To his dismay though, Misha says it wasn’t Jared who drew it, but him. Look at Jensen’s eyebrows go up. He is not amused.
So he abruptly, for no reason changes the subject to a drawing that has only the two of them, and NO Jared. A pretty steamy piece of art too, it sounds like. He voluntarily brought it up.
Alas, Misha doesn’t remember it. When I watched the video, the ‘You signed it’ bit was really loudly and vehemently said, like Jensen can’t believe Misha doesn’t remember this.
But yay, suddenly he does! Jensen can now breathe a sigh of relief, make a little joke and wander off.
Seriously, all I got from that video after I could understand what was being said was just Jensen peeing all over Misha and marking his territory.
