What's your personal favorite three fics that you love?

I have so many favourites and some of them I haven’t read for so long I can’t even remember what happens. But I’ll list the three that I still remember fondly and I can still recall the content. I’ll include whatever comments I added in my fic rec. (Anyone who regularly peruses my fic rec will probably sigh at seeing these again. Sorry.)

Dean and Cas have been at each other’s throats for years, but Anna and Sam are determined to change that for the better. With a well-placed love letter and some careful direction, they manage to get the two into a semi-antagonistic, fiercely competitive, and emotionally confusing game of relationship chicken. Now they just need to get to prom.

Okay, this has got to be one of the cutest, well-characterised, well-narrated, best-paced and overall amazing fics I’ve ever read. It’s the fanfic bedtime story that makes you happy before you turn out the light. Featuring Dean and Cas being definitely-not-friends who prank each other… by being nice to each other until one of them cracks. Jealous Cas, jealous (bisexual!) Dean, and a host of supporting characters - including Anna and Sam being adorable and scheming to get Dean and Cas together before prom. Based partially on Shakespeare’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing’. Right now it’s pretty much undiscovered, but I’ll be surprised if this story doesn’t become excruciatingly popular at some point. (It’s more popular now than when I wrote this review.)

It’s the 1940’s, the war is tearing Europe in half, and the Nazis have a plan to uncover an ancient weapon belonging to the Egyptian gods that can tip the scale in their favor. With the help of a librarian named Castiel, it’s up to Sam and Dean Winchester, respectively a professor of archaeology and treasure hunter, to get to the Lost City of Amun-Ra and stop the Third Reich from achieving world domination. But with a missing father, secret societies, and an unexpected romance, things get more than a little complicated in this race against time. Loosely based on the Indiana Jones franchise.

Adventure! Romance! Charlie piloting a bi-plane! This one is fucking incredible in all respects. Not to mention the art that goes with this is fantastic. I love the development of Dean and Cas’ relationship in this, and the more visually-stirring scenes are something to behold. The ending broke my heart and it was glorious.

“Dude, I can’t do this whole thing by myself,” Dean said with far more desperation leaking into his tone than he liked. It would just be too much to make it through hell and death and Lucifer only to have Castiel bail on him because of a frigging baby.

Sam is turned into a child and Dean has to care for him - but Sam doesn’t want Cas to leave. As it turns out, neither does Dean. So much fluff! Happy squiggly feelings from start to end. Well characterised and completely lovely. Also, Sam is awesome.
