Ehm, I used to study Flower & Design and was forced to recognize over 500 different flowers/plants and their names in latin.
It’s a succulent named a ‘Kalanchoe’.
the symbolic meaning of the kalanchoe, according to this: “Endurance, lasting affection.”
and according to this: “red-flowered plants on Valentine’s day or Women’s day, or pink for a birth”
well doesn’t that just sum up the “coffee date with boyfriend and newly-undead mother” thing perfectly
