She needs time to recover, sure, but Linda soon finds it’s hard to get back to “normal” life. With Crowley and Abaddon still at war, and Kevin’s spirit becoming more and more restless, Mama Tran decides she’s had it up to here with demons. She puts Mr. Tran’s ring on a chain, invests in a shotgun, and takes her ghost son out hunting. At first Kevin protests, but he’s never been able to talk down his mother - and anyway, it gives him an outlet for his growing anger. With his knowledge of the supernatural, and her ingenuity and determination (and corporeal form), they go about sending just a few more black-eyed assholes back to hell. 24/7 inescapable bonding, Winchester style.
Based on a prompt from kimracorp, who wanted to see an AU in which Linda & ghost!Kevin form an unconventional (but badass) hunting duo. (you probably wanted fic but I can’t write worth beans, sry ;-;)

A Study In Hugs: Dean Winchester
1. The Way Dean Hugs Sam And Benny
One arm up, one arm down. This is a “normal” hug between people who view each other as equals. He hugs Benny the same way.
2. The Way Dean Hugs Kevin

The pick-up hug is something you often see between family members. I would pick my little sister up like this when she was still shorter than I was. it’s an affectionate, friendly, family-type sort of gesture, always from an older and stronger person to a younger and smaller one. It’s also a sort of very caring gesture, because it shows that you can pick them up and carry them, if they need it. It means “I’ll take care of you.”Note the placement of Dean’s arms—beneath Kevin’s, to pick him up. This automatically places Kevin’s arms around Dean’s neck.
3. The Way Dean Hugs Cas

Leaning in close, both arms around Castiel’s neck. If Castiel were to hug back, his arms would be around Dean’s waist, like Dean’s arms were around Kevin. Dean was automatically going for the “I’ll take care of you” hug—and putting himself in the “smaller” position.Combine this with “I need you, Cas,” and we have a Dean who wants Castiel to be near, to protect and guard him.
And the liking storm does not end!
I love the way Dean hugged Kevin so much because it showed not only his relationship with Kev, but also his personality. This was Dean before he received the information about the trial, so yeah. This was Dean who’s content with whatever he got (a home - in this case) and his happiness radiated to other people around him. Dean actually has a nice personality of a big brother and that big brother is re-surfacing. Compared to Dean in “Adventure in Babysitting” or early S8, you would see that he’s in much better shape now.
Sam, sweetie. Be anything in the world you need to be but a man so consumed by grief and anger it makes you an antisocial liar.
Please please PLEASE don’t become your father’s son.
My first thought was that Sam was lying, but the more I think about it, the more I think that maybe that, “I promise,” was more along the lines of, “Even if I can’t right now, I will.”
The drama, the fighting, it’s stupid.
