sooo let’s assess this situation
- dean feels responsible for kevin’s death
- charlie is in the wind
- garth has settled down probably for good
- dean left cas after saying he didn’t deserve to have friends essentially
- and was on a self-loathing spree for 3-4 whole episodes
- was told in the last episode that his brother no longer wanted to be his brother and that hell not closing was entirely his fault
- after doing what he thought was the right thing (because no one up to this point has told dean it was the wrong thing)
- and we now have dean terrified of being alone
- and being told that if he were to die sam would leave him dead because sam doesn’t need him
- dean was never told by cas that he was needed
- and was never told by sam that he was needed
- he got one of his best friends killed by trying to do the right thing and by needing sam
- and HE’S DRINKING AGAIN
