Alexander Siddig/Siddig el Fadil (Julian Bashir) and Andrew Robinson (Elim Garak) have agreed to perform a Garashir script I wrote.
‘Little Achievements’ is a fun little fluff fic come to life, written by a queer and neurodivergent fan with other queer and neurodivergent fans in mind. It’s set 20 years after the end of ‘Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’, and takes a look at where Garak and Bashir are now. ;D
Andy’s currently having Internet Problems, but so long as they’re fixed on time, the performances will be broadcast LIVE in a Zoom meeting on Tuesday 11th August 2020 at 9pm EDT, and a repeat (the same but likely slightly different) performance on Friday 14th August 2020 at 3pm EDT. It’s about 15 minutes long. You can watch both if you want!
Show up on that page 5 to 10 minutes before the scheduled time to log in to the waiting room. The page may crash, and the link might take a while to appear, but be patient and don’t frantically refresh.
You don’t need a webcam or microphone, since both will be switched off during the performance. The usual fan chats with Sid will happen afterwards, but you’re allowed to lurk and just watch or listen.
Please share this with your Garashir shipper friends!! Don’t wanna let anyone miss out ♥
25 hours until performance 2!!! This one’s going to be even better because we’ve fixed/are fixing the technical issues, and Sid and Andy have actually had practice! (and my director’s feedback~)
In 8 and a half hours, I get to perform this beautiful play with Andy, Sid and Randy - what a treat! Come watch it live, it’s the softest, most beautiful Garashir thing you will ever lay your eyes on.
Hey, sorry if this is a weird question, but I saw that you referred to Sid as Alexander Siddig/Siddig el Fadil, and I was wondering if you know which name, if either, he prefers. I never quite know what to call him when talking to people who won't get it if I just say Sid. (I also want to thank you for Little Achievements, but I'm still searching for the words to say how much it meant to me.)
Alexander Siddig is just a stage name. He says nobody calls him Alexander except people in the acting industry (Ruba Nadda called him Alexander).
So he’s Siddig, but we call call him Sid c:
I’m glad you enjoyed Little Achievements!! Hopefully the second performance (less than 10 hours away) will be EVEN BETTER because Sid and Andy have finally had some practice <3 (Can you believe the two of them never even had a siNGLE coNVERSATION between them about the performance before the moment they performed it?? They’re becoming Julian and Garak again and interacting in character after 20 years, and it looks like they did it yesterday.)

SO I was able to join the August 11 Sid City live-stream and watch the lovely garashir script written by @almaasi and OH BOY was it incredible!! I have this one screencap which really says it all. This was a wonderful script and absolutely amazing to watch.
It means so much to me as a young queer person to see the queer narrative that was pushed under the rug in the 90’s being put front and centre in the spotlight by Sid and Andy themselves, not censored by production companies or social stigma. The fact that a very real twenty years later the fan community is recognized and creating content the actors themselves perform and share is just so so wonderfu. I have a lot of feelings about Garak, Bashir, DS9 and this performance. Feel free to break down the door of my DMs and SCREAM with me!!
Hi I would just like to say that hearing Andy and Sid read fluffy garashir fanfic in character literally made my entire life thank you so much everyone that made that happen

ITS ACTUALLY HAPPENING THANK YOU AFYAJDNSKODJD
ring-tailed-femur: STILL EXCITED ABOUT THIS AND LEAVING TOO MANY COMMENTS ❤️ I’ve never used Zoom before does it have some kind of auto-caption feature? I’m autistic and when I’m in SUPER EXCITE mode my auditory processing drops by half and I wind up needing closed captions 😖 if not I will just impatiently wait a week for the YouTube and try to avoid spoilers
There are no auto captions on Zoom BUT my friend @sigynpenniman does the Youtube captions for the SidCity performances (specifically with folks like you in mind~), and will be adding them very soon after the video goes up publicly.

Here’s some art I commissioned from @prose-n-scripts for my very domestic post-canon Cardassia Garashir fic Our Collective, which was inspired by their art!
WHAT GOOD, WARM, COZY ART. Perfectly encapsulates the feeling of the fic, I think~
