This is ChiCon 2015 again, the day after the Louden Swain concert, when Misha crashes J2’s panel. From the moment he walks onstage, Jen’s eyes are glued to him (and occasionally to his crotch). (Pics 1 & 2).
Jensen immediately goes full glowy bear, with his face shining with happiness and his ears sticking out (Pics 3 & 4). Totally zoned in to each other, ugh.
And Misha wins a Unicorn Laugh from Jen when he self-deprecatingly refers to the crowd as “My fellow vacationers.“ (Jensen finds that so damn funny he runs it by Jared again, who’s just like, “Yeah, I know. I heard it.” Once again, poor Jared, in the middle of this mess. Maybe we should pray for him too). (Pics 5 & 6)
Misha LOVES making Jensen lose his shit. Lookit that smug face. God I love these two!
But alas, all good things end, and Rich and Jared both reach out to Jensen when Misha leaves the stage. Like there is NO explanation for why they both grab his shoulders. Misha didn’t score a zinger, he… just….. left??? (Pic 7)
But now we come to the gem, y'all. Jen stands up for no good reason, (Pic 8) and repositions and stands behind the chair, which I will now dub Suspicious Chair, also for no good reason…

At JIBCON ‘11, a fan brought the script from a scene in Harry met Sally where a female character fake orgasms in front a male character to prove that men can’t tell the difference between real and fake orgasms in women.
Misha played the woman and Jensen played the man in this video and Jensen has a little problem after the skit is over. ♥
In the middle of my reading for my film theory course I came across this choice quote:
“the shot which moves up the female star’s leg from the ankle towards the thigh is a favorite convention within hollywood to introduce the desirable protagonist”
no matter what this is the fucking scene. this is it. i tried to find other ways of seeing this scene. other than dean putting his hand on his crotch bc he probably felt something happening down there. and fucking shit look at the look on his face, srly this is my destiel moment. and jensen always says he doesn’t play dean attracted to cas but then hOW THE FUCK WAS THIS SCENE DESCRIBED??? ‘hey jensen i need you to look like you’re getting horny from looking at cas after he got cleaned up and looks like old cas again but no homo’
After the camera has given us the MALE GAZE trope - sexual by definition but not meant to be taken sexually this time because - from exactly DEAN’S POV, DEAN platonically tenses up, playing with his platonical hands. He checks out Cas platonically, taking in his appearance with a good, unashamed look up and down like a friend with no sexual interest in him would, jaw platonically slack. When he notices SAM looking at him with a knowing expression (as in, knowing that he’s admiring his buddy’s body in a purely brotherly way), he gives him an awkward smile, betraying his strictly non-sexual, non-romantic thoughts, still heterosexually shaken by the view.
I also tried to read that in a different way because this is SPN and I have no faith (sometimes). But I can’t see the body language here as conveying anything other than “My pants are suddenly way too small.”
If not for the Tab A/Slot B hand gesture I could see it as Jensen being told “Dean is somewhat uncomfortable to see Cas looking like old Cas and has to suppress a shudder.” We’ve seen Jensen play Dean as making a face when he’s grossed out and do the full body shudder-cringe thing, IIRC. That could account for everything except the hands … and the facial expression doesn’t match either. (Not to mention that “grossed out” is not exactly a plausible or consistent reaction here.)
