His reaction to hearing Cas’s voice is something I cherish infinitely. You can see some of the worry lines gradually fade away from his features, and just as quicky, his protective instinct kicks in. There’s a strange angel in the room, and as much as Dean wants to believe he can trust Ezekiel, he knows the angels are out for Cas’s neck, so he still can’t bring himself to openly announce his angel is on the other end of the call and he exits the room. Protective!Dean will always be my favorite Dean.
