So Dean jumped into the AU without even mentioning Cas, because just like Cas told him, the mission is their only priority.
Cas said it was the reason he was brought back from the Empty, and now saving Jack is what Dean can do for Cas.
As much as saving Mary is what Dean can do for Sam.
THIS IS WHERE ALL THE DUMB MISCOMMUNICATIONS ALL SEASON LONG HAVE BROUGHT US.
Dean believes that for Sam and for Cas, that there is nothing more important than this mission. He doesn’t even begin to understand that HE is as important to them (if not more so) than this mission.
SOMEONE SEND HELP.
Also, when Cas catches up to Dean in the AU, HE’S GONNA HAVE WORDS.
(or at least he BETTER have some damn words, because as much as Cas thinks he doesn’t get words wrong, BOY HOWDY DOES HE GET SOME WORDS WRONG)
