PALM BEACH JENSEN FOREVER

feandra:

Doesn’t it just rip your heart into tiny little shreds when you think about how the reason Cas doesn’t heal Dean when he says “I had it coming” likely isn’t because Cas agrees with him or thinks that this makes them ‘even’ in any way. It’s because he understands what it’s like to want (and need) to atone for something that hurts too much; guilt in the form of almost physical pain. He’s just being… Cas, as always.

Because he deeply understands that healing Dean’s physical injuries isn’t going to help. And it may hurt him to see the same pain he knows so well reflected in Dean’s eyes… but still, he lets Dean have the physical pain in hopes that it will somehow help him with the one he carries inside (nevermind that it never really works that way). Because that’s just what he does, isn’t it - always there to make things right again, ready to offer understanding and comfort, in whatever way he thinks he can, disregarding his own needs completely. Because he feels he is obliged; because he cares; because he’s Cas

Misha, could you please respond to your boyfriend. He’s basically doing the Twitter equivalent of Facebook poking and I’m experiencing second-hand embarrassment plus an additional side effect of vomiting rainbows.

ROWENA USING DEAN’S LOVE FOR CAS TO GET A WEDGE BETWEEN SAM AND HIM

WAS THIS WHAT THE TITLE “BAD SEED” MEANS? IS ROWENA SEEDING DISSENSION AND UNREST BETWEEN THEM? I THINK SO

deancasheadcanons:

the worst part about the deancas face touching is that there was no dialogue so u know all of that was jensen’s directing

Things I liked:

  • Rowena being Rowena, all tiny and adorable and big headed. You can really see the family resemblance to Crowley (especially when she’s sitting in the backseat trying to pretend she’s a part of the Team)
  • Everything with Amara!!! She’s so awesome!! And amoral!!! I’m just so intrigued by her because it’s not like with demons or angels or even leviathan where they’re a species looking down on humanity, she’s actually an individual.  She’s a lot like Death, actually, except that she’s outside of the system that God set up, because he locked her away before creating the universe. So she’s beyond morality or arrogance or even antagonism because she just is.
  • Also Crowley is a terrible father wowww
  • Dean putting the blanket back on Cas after he blacks out, and like basically wrapping his arms around him and leaving them there FOR EVER and you know what I’ll just be on the floor if you need me
  • The random angel and demon having their little chat at the bar, did anyone else get some SERIOUS Good Omens vibes from it or… anyway they were great, not sure where the show is going with that but I loved them
  • The end bit where Cas tries to heal Dean and Dean refuses because he feels like he had it coming, and then my heart breaks
  • I thoroughly enjoyed watching Crowley attempt to control Amara, as if he stood a fucking chance.  I mean seriously, dude, you’re a punk-ass king of Hell and she’s as powerful (or more) as God.  Plus she’s not buying what you’re selling, so…
  • Cas existing and trying to help even though he’s cursed and being snarky and just being Cas

Things I didn’t like:

  • The Busty Asian Beauties thing, and the woman who tells Dean to fuck off.  Both of them were completely unnecessary to the plot or characterization, and I’m really not sure why they weren’t cut.  From a writing standpoint, it just doesn’t make sense.
  • While I enjoyed the Good Omens dudes, I’m not entirely sure how their scene fit in to the rest of the episode.  I feel like there needed to be some callback to them later on- maybe we glimpse the demon mook in Hell or something- because otherwise it was really disconnected from everything else.
  • I feel like I wanted more out of the Team Free Will plot- that storyline was mostly exposition which meant it was kind of boring, despite the awesome characters involved.

Overall grade: B+

Not the best written episode ever, but definitely not the worst, and it had a lot of great stuff going on in it.  As ever with Buckleming episodes, I feel like the biggest flaw was in balancing the different storylines, which meant that what should have been the main story- curing Cas- ended up losing some of its zest.  Even with that, though, I thoroughly enjoyed the ep and everything that’s coming up this season.

Why is everyone calling Dean’s “Hey,” to that random lady in the street a “no homo?” Because Dean’s looking for Cas. He wasn’t like, “Hey baby, lookin good tonight!” Because if she hadn’t shut him down, if Dean wasn’t obviously NOT AN ASSHOLE TO WOMEN, and NOT THE KIND OF GUY THAT WOULD HOUND HER WHEN SHE’S OBVIOUSLY PUT OFF ABOUT BEING BOTHERED BY A RANDOM DUDE IN A “BAD PART OF TOWN” LATE AT NIGHT AND ALONE.

*deep breaths mittens use your words*

If Dean wasn’t a decent human being, you can bet the next words out of his mouth would’ve been “Hey, I’m looking for a friend of mine. Have you seen him? Might be acting a little weird? Blue eyes, brown hair, trench coat?”

#spn 11.03#spn s11 spoilers#yes i know it’s bucklemming and this is what they’re famous for#but dammit that scene actually put dean in a good light and i refuse to force it into an ugly place just because bucklemming#man and woman meet in dark alley at night#man legit needs help and approaches woman to ask for it#she shuts him down aggressively before even finding out what he wants BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT WOMEN ARE TRAINED TO DO IN THAT SITUATION#DEAN RESPECTED HER PERSONAL SPACE#he didn’t try to follow her#or call out to her or beg for her help#because no matter how true it was that he needed help SHE WOULD SEE THAT AS A PLOY#because that’s how I WOULD see that#wank probably#WHEN THE FUCK HAS DEAN WINCHESTER EVER STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN URGENT HUNT ESPECIALLY FOR CAS#TO HIT ON RANDOM WOMEN FOR NO APPARENT PURPOSE? HINT: NEVER

You know, I think I figured it out. Everyone I’ve seen calling Dean out as skeevy for that? IS A WOMAN. We saw what we expected to see as women, because we’re trained to see men in that situation as a threat. So yeah. Y’all are forgiven for this one, just try to see it from the other side. From Dean’s side, looking for Cas, and trying to ask for help and still refusing to frighten an innocent bystander by pressing her for info in a situation he can understand she feels uncomfortable in.

THERE we go.  Yes.

And there’s something about the sound track that doesn’t match up with the visuals, too, but I can’t quite pin it down.

But yeah, Dean taking time to flirt when we’ve seen him so worried about Cas doesn’t make sense.

So what was the point of this scene? Why have it in there at all? Seemed rather unnecessary, that’s all.

@winjennster suggested that he was trying to hurry her out of a danger zone, which I think also works.

I LIKE THIS ONE TOO have I told you all @mittensmorgul is a goddess? Not one named FUCKING RHIANNON but still. (I’m never forgiving you for the twenty four hour Earbug.)

I think both theories can apply and work here. And sorry about the earbug. Okay not too sorry, but a little sorry. :D

Please. You’re like 1/16 of a sorry.
