sorry to burst your bubble, but dean didn’t approach that lady in the scene when he was looking for cas to ask her for information. she shut him down before he could say anything else so he could have said anything and we don’t know what he would have said but how about we look at what we have here in that scene
the WAY dean talked, his intonation, the way he used his voice, kinda low and melodic, that is not how you approach a stranger, a lady on top of that, at night walking alone, when you are looking for information. especially if you are in a hurry too. imagine how you would ask, you would probably talk fast and sound kinda out of breath, you might say “hey” too but just imagine it in your head how you would approach someone (as a guy) when you are just looking for info
and people are saying that dean did not try to hit on that girl because it doesn’t make sense
well it doesn’t make sense and that is the problem, dean didn’t seem to have difficulty finding cas without any other help, so why show it in the first place? that scene gave no information, we didn’t find out anything, it was just dean trying to, more or less, chat up a girl in passing when he didn’t even have the time for it
and u know why? to establish his heterosexuality before he goes off cradling cas’ face in that building
do you guys understand that dean and castiel are literally in love? that in moments of uncertainty and fear dean wants to hold castiel’s face in his hands, to ground him and keep him in this moment? that when castiel looks at dean, tries to fathom what the two of them have been through, all this millennia-old eloquent ancient creature can say is “dean, i… there aren’t words”? that dean feels so deeply the pain of having hurt castiel that he refuses to accept the relief of angelic healing? DO YOU UNDERSTAND?
