About Jensen and the trench coat scene
So to state the obvious first, I don’t believe that “but it’s a scene between two men” is a valid excuse for refusing to film a reconciliation scene in a particular way. At previous cons, the scene has also been called “gay” and it was suggested that the original version of the scene came out that way because Sera’s a woman. In fact, the implication present in pretty much all of this, whether delivered as a joke or not, is pretty offensive. It’s suggested that men have to stick to certain codes to show affection; if they don’t, they immediately become “gay” or “girlish”.
