Show: Dean shouting “what about Cas?!” for two years.

Negative Concept: Cas doesn’t really care about Dean or Sam, he’s an Angel and has no emotions.
Show: the sacred oath, the things we’ve been together have changed me, I love you, I love all of you.

Negative Concept: Cas is in Jimmy’s body, gross and immoral.
Show: Cas is in his own body, Jimmy is long gone in Heaven, Cas struggles with the morality and is forgiven by Claire, Cas can give Lucifer consent just like a human because it’s his body, a repeatedly emphasised point.

Negative Concept: Dean is a straight up dude bro, harsh and dark. He has no facade or hidden side, he’s all about killing things and being a manly man.
Show: Every time Dean gets hit with something that lowers his inhibitions or lets his nature side out by repressing the nurture (no memories, drugged, childhood exposition etc) he shows he’s soft, gentle and loves all kinds of stuff he would never normally admit to.

Negative Concept: Dean and Sam only truly care about family, Cas will never be family.
Show: Cas is family! You’re our brother Cas. You’re family and we don’t leave family behind. We’re fighting for you Cas! We’re glad you’re back! Cas!

Negative Concept: The show is only about the brothers.
Show, Dabb, Singer, PR about season 13: Did we mention Misha enough? Did we mention Cas in 90% of the PR? The show centres around the brothers sure but it’s about so much more than that, it’s about love, morality and family. Family don’t end in blood.

Negative Concept: The brothers are at their best when they’re codependent.
Show: Everything the brother do out of toxic codependency ends in negativity, the next big bad and general bad things. Repeated emphasis on the toxic aspects of their love as being bad, the move away from this climaxing in 12x22 with the downfall of the toxic part of their relationship leaving a healthy one with positive love and subsequent good things in saving Mary, escaping the bunker, destroying the MoL.

Negative Concept: Team Free Will is a myth, the show is only about the brothers.
Show: Brings up Team Free Will again in the canon text, also gets Dean to say “we’re better together”.

Negative Concept: hates A, hates B, hates C, general hatred…
Show: Love conquers hate
