Yes, that’s the Tea House. It was actually a project of theirs for a long time. Six years ago, Misha was jogging past this old foundation of a house in Griffith Park and started thinking that it’d be the perfect place for something.

Then, curiously, a couple years ago he had a Gishwhes item where he asked for the architectural designs of a Tea House, the purpose of which was unclear. Then later on at a con he told the story of how he’d run into one of the winners of Gishwhes (that year) at his friend’s architect firm, while he was putzing around with the Tea House designs, one of which was made by the winner, so clearly he was thinking about doing something with them.

Then, with a bunch of his artist friends, they built the Tea House and brought it over to Griffith Park. Here’s an article about it, Misha is clearly the “ringleader of the collective.“

Also, they made a vending machine filled with bags of different smells and put it somewhere

I think the collective had some kind of a name at some point, something to do with sunsets or something, but that I can’t remember.

Oh yes, that was it! I dunno now why I thought of sunsets.

I remember him saying at some con that he came up with the name of it in his sleep. Which is pretty classic Misha when you think about it.
