I love Lazarus Rising because there’s a subtle difference in Misha’s acting between this episode and all the others. In this episode, his Cas seems like a little high, a little edgy, he smiles and everything… He seems to be mesmerized by the fact he’s possessing a vessel. I think it was gorgeous.

Yes, I always thought so too.

And somehow I think he has more of a tan in this episode.

He uses his hands more (note the throwing his hands up in a defeated defence when Dean mentions “God works in mysterious ways”, and putting them on the sink behind him) and is far more expressive than he ever was for the remainder of season 4. He gained something towards the end of the season though, and it grew throughout season 5. Like a subtle hint of …something. Not smiles, but a kind of inner happiness.

It was nice.
