what i love about gadreel saying he could smell alcoholism in s9 is that in s8 cas said he could smell a uti on a dead guy. so angels can smell sickness. what about an au where angels are used to identify illnesses and injuries in people. they can heal, but they don’t because heaven considers it to be meddling in human affairs and risks throwing off the balance in any number of ways (humans worshiping angels instead of god, people not dying who are supposed to, and so on)

and what if an angel fell in love with a human and cured that human of a terminal illness, despite the fact that they had strict orders not to?
