I wish you the best in finding something to read. I have to admit, I can’t think of anything that resembles the genre or length or style, all at once.

Perhaps try The Dreamer and the Mystic for a similar genre, Redemption Road for similarly ridiculous length (but I haven’t read it yet), A Lot Like Falling, Point Pleasant and The Ghosts of Blackthorn Hall because I said so; Domesticated for similar animally-ness and fluff, and Our Small World for similar themes.
